Allegiant Air's terms charge $25 per person, per segment to change a flight without Trip Flex, plus any airfare increase, and the change must be made at least seven days before departure. Trip Flex allows one change or cancellation with no change fee. Cancelling within 24 hours of booking gives a full refund if the flight is at least seven days away, and any other cancelled itinerary becomes a non-refundable voucher.

Allegiant Air change and cancellation fees
These are the amounts and deadlines Allegiant publishes in its terms and on its optional services and fees page. Where Allegiant does not publish a figure, we say so.

Sources: Allegiant Air's Terms and Conditions and optional services and fees page. Allegiant's fees page describes the $25 change fee as "a temporarily reduced fee", so the amount can change. Carrier charges and booking fees are not refunded, with or without Trip Flex.
Allegiant Trip Flex
Trip Flex is an optional protection you buy with your booking. Allegiant's terms say it allows one change or cancellation with no change or cancellation fee, and that later changes follow the non-Trip Flex rules. You still pay any increase in airfare. On cancellations Allegiant keeps carrier charges, the Trip Flex cost and booking fees. Air-only changes and cancellations must be made at least one hour before departure, while vacation package changes and cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before. Trip Flex can be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase if no changes have been made, and the Total Bundle with enhanced Trip Flex refunds to the original form of payment. Allegiant does not show the Trip Flex price on the pages we checked, and some promotional fares and holiday dates are excluded, so read the terms shown at booking.
Change fee vs. fare difference
A change can include two separate amounts. The change fee is the $25 per person, per segment charge when you do not have Trip Flex. The fare difference is the increase in airfare between your old flight and the new one. Trip Flex removes the change fee, not the fare difference. If the new flight is cheaper, Allegiant's terms say the difference will not be refunded.
Example (illustrative numbers, not an Allegiant fare): Two passengers change one segment, and the new flight costs US$30 more per person.
Without Trip Flex, the change fee is $25 × 2 passengers = US$50, plus the US$60 airfare increase, so US$110 in total. With Trip Flex, the change fee is zero, so you pay only the US$60 increase.
Is Trip Flex worth it?
Compare the Trip Flex price shown when you book with the cost of the changes you could make. Without Trip Flex, each change costs $25 per person, per segment, so a family changing a round trip pays that fee on each segment and each person. Trip Flex covers only one change or cancellation, and the airline keeps the Trip Flex cost if you cancel, so it is worth more when your plans are uncertain and less when your dates are fixed. Because Allegiant does not publish the Trip Flex price on its terms pages, we do not quote one, and you should not rely on a price from another website.
Allegiant 24-hour cancellation rule
Allegiant says you can cancel an entire air itinerary for a full refund within 24 hours after purchase if the flight's departure was at least 168 hours away when you booked and the air was not bought as part of a package with ground elements. Its fees page adds that there is no credit if you booked within one week of departure. This follows the US Department of Transportation's 24-hour rule for reservations made at least seven days before departure. Read Allegiant's Customer Service Plan for the conditions.
Allegiant vouchers and credits
Allegiant's terms say credits are issued as non-refundable, non-transferable vouchers. Without Trip Flex, the voucher is valid for 365 days from the original booking date, and with Trip Flex, travel must be completed within one year of the initial reservation date. Allegiant says expiration dates cannot be extended. Because the clock starts at booking, a voucher from a trip you booked far in advance can be close to expiry when you receive it. A voucher is issued after carrier charges, booking fees and any cancellation fee are deducted.
Cancel an Allegiant flight and refunds
Allegiant says travel purchases are non-refundable with very limited exceptions. What you get depends on when and how you cancel:
- Within 24 hours of booking (departure at least 168 hours away, not a package): full refund.
- At least 7 days before departure, no Trip Flex: a voucher after fees. Carrier charges and booking fees are kept.
- Within 7 days of departure, no Trip Flex: no credit.
- With Trip Flex: no cancellation fee on the one cancellation, but Allegiant keeps carrier charges, the Trip Flex cost and booking fees.
Allegiant's help pages also say you can log in to Manage Travel to cancel remaining segments for a refund of the unflown segments in some cases, so check what your booking shows before you confirm. If you booked through an agency, the cancellation and any refund go through the agency.
Allegiant no-show policy and missed flights
Allegiant's terms say that failing to board, or failing to change or cancel within the stated deadlines, is treated as a customer-initiated cancellation. The remaining itinerary, including return flights, is cancelled and the funds are forfeited, with no refund or credit for no-shows.
- If the flight has not left, change or cancel it in Manage Travel before the deadline.
- If it has left, contact Allegiant Customer Care or the agency that issued your ticket straight away.
- Ask about the whole itinerary before you buy a new ticket, since a missed outbound flight can cancel the return.
- If you booked with AirFiesta, call or message us before departure.
Allegiant name changes
Allegiant's terms say name changes on bookings are not permitted. The name on the ticket must match your ID. If there is a spelling error, contact Allegiant Customer Care or the issuing agency as soon as you notice it, and before you travel. We could not find a published correction rule or fee, so we do not quote one.
Allegiant "Travel with Confidence" policy
On 23 March 2026 Allegiant announced a "Travel with Confidence" policy, available for a limited time on new and existing bookings. Its highlights were no change fees for eligible bookings and the option to cancel and receive a refund without penalty. Customers had to contact Allegiant Customer Care by call, chat, text or email, and refund cancellations were processed through Customer Care. The announcement did not give an end date or list fare types, exclusions or amounts, and we could not confirm that the policy is still active on 8 October 2026. Ask Allegiant before you rely on it.
If Allegiant changes or cancels your flight
Allegiant's Customer Service Plan says that when a delay or cancellation is within its control, it rebooks you on its next available flight or a partner flight at no additional cost. If you decline the alternative, it refunds the ticket, including taxes and ancillary fees, to the original form of payment. Card refunds are processed no later than seven business days after the request is fully documented. Allegiant says it notifies passengers of cancellations, delays of 30 minutes or more and diversions within 30 minutes of becoming aware of them. Compare any alternative with your plans, hotel and onward flights before you accept it.
Packages, bundles and points bookings
- Vacation packages. Changes and full-package cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before departure with Trip Flex, and hotel, activities and car items can be forfeited on air-only cancellations.
- Bundles. Allegiant says bundles are non-refundable, and date or destination changes may add charges to bundle items.
- Points bookings. Points redeemed on a customer-initiated cancellation are returned as a voucher.
- Stadium packages. Allegiant says these are non-cancellable and non-refundable.
- Hotel and car. Reservations that include a rental car or hotel may need Customer Care.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Allegiant Air charge to change a flight?
Without Trip Flex, Allegiant's terms say changes to the air ticket cost $25 per person, per segment, plus any airfare increase. Allegiant's fees page describes this as a temporarily reduced fee, so check the amount shown when you make the change. Carrier charges and booking fees are not refunded.
Can I change my Allegiant flight for free?
In some cases. Trip Flex allows one change or cancellation with no change fee, and you still pay any increase in airfare. Allegiant also announced a Travel with Confidence policy on 23 March 2026 with no change fees on eligible bookings for a limited time. We could not confirm it is still active, so ask Customer Care.
How late can I change an Allegiant flight?
Without Trip Flex, Allegiant's terms say changes and cancellations must be made at least seven days before departure, and passenger-initiated changes or cancellations within seven days receive no credit. With Trip Flex, air-only changes or cancellations must be made at least one hour before departure, and vacation packages at least 72 hours before.
What is Allegiant Trip Flex?
Trip Flex is an optional protection you buy with your booking. Allegiant says it allows one change or cancellation with no change or cancellation fee, and later changes follow the non-Trip Flex rules. Allegiant keeps carrier charges, the Trip Flex cost and booking fees on cancellations. Allegiant does not show the Trip Flex price on the pages we checked, so use the price shown when you book.
Is Allegiant Trip Flex worth it?
It depends on how likely you are to change. Compare the Trip Flex price shown at booking with $25 per person, per segment for each change you might make. Trip Flex covers one change or cancellation only, and you still pay any airfare increase, so it helps most when plans are uncertain.
Does Allegiant have a 24-hour cancellation rule?
Yes. Allegiant says you can cancel an entire air itinerary for a full refund within 24 hours of purchase if the flight departs at least 168 hours (7 days) after you book and the air was not bought as part of a package with ground elements.
Do I get a refund or credit if I cancel an Allegiant flight?
Allegiant says travel purchases are non-refundable with very limited exceptions. Outside the 24-hour rule, cancelled itineraries are normally issued as a non-refundable, non-transferable voucher after carrier charges, booking fees and any cancellation fee are deducted. Cancellations within seven days of departure get no credit.
How long is an Allegiant voucher valid?
Without Trip Flex, Allegiant says the voucher is valid for 365 days from the original booking date. With Trip Flex, travel must be completed within one year of the initial reservation date. Allegiant says expiration dates cannot be extended, so the clock starts at booking, not at the change.
Will Allegiant refund the fare difference if my new flight is cheaper?
No. Allegiant's terms say a price difference from a change may be credited, but the difference will not be refunded. If the new flight costs more, you pay the increase.
Can I change the name on an Allegiant ticket?
Allegiant's terms say name changes on bookings are not permitted. If the name is wrong, contact Allegiant Customer Care or the agency that issued the ticket straight away, and ask what can be done before you travel.
What happens if I miss my Allegiant flight?
Allegiant treats failing to board, or failing to change or cancel within the stated deadlines, as a customer-initiated cancellation. The remaining itinerary, including return flights, is cancelled and the funds are forfeited. No refunds or credits are given for no-shows.
What if Allegiant cancels or changes my flight?
Allegiant's Customer Service Plan says it rebooks you on its next available flight or a partner flight at no additional cost, and if you decline the alternative it refunds the ticket, including taxes and ancillary fees, to the original form of payment. Card refunds are processed within seven business days of a documented request.
Is there a fee to book Allegiant by phone?
Yes. Allegiant's fees page lists a call center booking fee of $19.99 per person, per segment for travel bought through the call center. It also lists an electronic carrier usage charge of $22.00 per person, per segment for reservations booked through its website or call center.
Who changes my ticket if I booked through a travel agent?
The agency that issued the ticket. If you booked directly with Allegiant, use Manage Travel on allegiantair.com. If you booked with AirFiesta, our team handles the change and lists Allegiant's charges, any fare difference and our service fee separately.
Is the Allegiant phone number on other websites genuine?
Be careful. Many third-party sites list phone numbers for Allegiant that Allegiant may not publish for changes. Use the contact options on allegiantair.com or the agency that sold you the ticket, and never share card details with a number you found in search results.
How we keep this guide current
This guide explains Allegiant Air's published rules in plain English. It does not replace the terms attached to your own booking. We check Allegiant's terms, fees, Trip Flex and help pages before each update, and when a fee, deadline or rule is not clearly published, we say so rather than guess. We removed older figures that we could not match to Allegiant's own pages, including the previous $75 change fee and the Trip Flex price range.
